NEW** Forest Park, St. Louis, Mo. THANK YOU Kriston B!
Kriston writes that a few years ago while having lunch at Forest Park, left of
the History Museum where the play area is now (it was not a play area then)
she was shocked to hear faint, phantom Big Band music. She investigated and
even stopped nearby runners to ask if they also heard the music. Kriston would
like to know if anyone else has had this experience or others like it in Forest
Park?

Cottey College: THANK YOU MELISSA!
http://workingonthepipeline.com/macabre.html
I didn't write this, but it explains a lot.  Madame Blitz's house is
where the library is now and the library has oddities.  I found out a
couple of weeks ago that Reeves Hall is built on the site where
Missouri Hall had stood.  Missouri Hall had been an old mansion that
had been turned into a sanitarium for the insane before it was
purchased by the college and turned into a dorm.  It burnt down later.
Reeves is where The Black Spirit is seen.  It is what is usually
referred to as a shadow person.  However, girls have been grabbed by
him.  I would do a call out for Cottey Girls and you will get a lot of
personal stories.

*NEW* Missouri Valley College, Marshall, Missouri: name submitted by
Amy via our contact form. No further information sent. We welcome more
information on this site from anyone who has any.

The Union Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri: 227 East 28th Terrace
Kansas City, Missouri 64108-3277 Phone: (816)472-4990. The website has
a forum with a link for The Paranormal, a page called Just for fun with
evp's recorded last year in the cemetery and looks like a great resource
for the KC area. Check them out.

Old Salem Church & Cemetery, undisclosed location Southeast Missouri.
The owners allowed us access to this beautiful, out of the way spot in fall
2005 in exchange for telling the "real" ghost hunters to leave them alone.
The Family grave yard has been desecrated by vandals hoping to be scared
by the reported ghost boy and although the owners (now) realize that this
is not actual paranormal investigators who have torn down stones and
littered the place with trash and feces they wanted us to report they have
hired armed security to patrol their property.

The Holiday Inn at Six Flags in Eureka Missouri is said to be haunted by
the spirit of a little girl who fell from the towering loft of what was then
the barn and is now the entry. She has been reported playing by the
elevators and seen in the loft windows above the lobby.  The pool area is
said to be haunted by the spirits of children who tragically drowned in the
pool on separate occasions in the same year. They can be heard playing
when no one is there and wet children's footprints have been seen exiting
the deep end of the pool. I have spent over a dozen nights in this hotel and
have yet to collect any data to support these stories.

Now; rewritten from the book Haunted Places, The National Directory by
Dennis William Hauck here are some others:

Inspiration Point in Branson: The ghost of a confederate soldier haunts
this lookout that was used by the confederates in the civil war. First seen
in 1964 during a play about the Baldnobbers (a group of pro-Union
vigilantes) the ghosts seemed to be fleeing the actors in one of the scenes.
Ever since whenever the nighttime pageant is repeated, the phantom rider
appears. Branson is south of Springfield in southwest Missouri.

The Shepperd of the Hills theme park is located there. Payne-Gentry
House in Bridgeton: 23 different spirits have been encountered in this old
mansion as tallied by the Ghost Research society. 4211 Fee Road,
Bridgeton, Mo. 63044 314-739-5599

Rock Bridge State Park in Columbia: Devil's Icebox Cave has been
reported to be haunted by evil-looking apparitions that glow in the dark.
Several people have died in the cave from accidents. The park is located
seven miles south of Columbia at 5901 South Columbia, Mo. 65203
Highway 163 573-449-7402 www.mostateparks.com/rockbridge.html

Stevens College in Columbia: The spirit of Sarah June Wheeler is said to
be seen in the bell tower at Senior Hall, --when else? At Midnight on
Halloween. The story is classic. Sarah was a student at old Baptist female
College. She found, an injured, escaped prisoner in her closet hiding and
fell in love with Isaac Johnson. Someone turned him in though and he was
shot to death by firing squad in front of Senior hall. Sarah climbed to the
bell tower, looped the cord around her neck and leaped to her death.
Recent renovations have increased the reports of ghostly activities there.
1200 E. Broadway, Columbia, Mo. 65215 573-442-2211 www.stephens.edu

Sutton House in Columbia: The stone foundation of this house stood at
4933 Lake Valley Lane, Columbia, Mo. 65203. The fire department
deliberately burned the house to the ground in 1983 after years of neglect
when no one would live in the house due to the ghost. A short young
woman with long brown hair wearing a gray dress was reported there.
Built before the civil war this house was the residence of the Sutton family
for many generations. The grey girls singing was sometimes reported to fill
the entire house.

Lilac Hall in Fayeteville: The image of an elderly widow wearing black
(what else?) has sat on beds and appeared to children in this house. She is
thought to be Miss Minnie the last of the original owners of the house, who
died in 1949. Lilac house is now a state historic site. West of Kansas city
take Highway 13 South exit from I-70.

McCluer North Senior High School in Florissant: The town of Florrissant is
a northwestern suburb of st. Louis off I-270. The high school at 705
Waterford Drive in The Taille De Noyer building has reports of people
dressed in period costumes from the early 1800's. The building was
constructed in 1798.

Ward Farm in Hartville: Duke University Parapsychology Laboratory
investigated a famous poltergeist case on this farm. The activity was
centered around Betty Ruth Ward, the nine year old daughter of Mr and
Mrs. ClintonWard in 1958. Dozens of witnesses reported things moving,
floating, flying and other poltergeist activity there. No directions... Its a
private property and one must wonder if the current occupants even know
what happened there in 1958?

Lake House in Hollister: Pervert ghosts! In the 1930's a lecherous voyeur
murdered his wife and buried her in the basement. Now his vaporous form
is seen hovering outside the bathroom window that is 18 feet off the
ground when unsuspecting women are using the toilet. He has also been
seen in the hallway leading to the bedrooms. The house is a private
residence on Chalet Road off US Highway 65. It overlooks Lake
Taneycomo.

Old Jackson County Jail in Independence: 200 South Main Street is still in
operation. The ghost of a man in uniform thought to be Deputy Marshall
Henry Buggler who was killed in a jailbreak in 1866 is seen in the center
south cell. Visitors report feeling sick. (I guess so, visitors being JAILED)

The Truman Home in Independence: Park employees have reported the
ghost of Harry S. Truman relaxing in the living room. The odor of his
favorite bourbon is also smelled there. 223 N. Main St. Independence, Mo.
64050 818-254-7199. www.nps.gov.hstr

Phantom Steamboat in Jefferson City: Southwest of Columbia in central
Missouri a phantom vessel has been seen at the confluence of the Missouri
River and the Osage River. This unique steamboat has a duck-paddle
system of propulsion. About a dozen passengers can be seen on the deck of
the phantom vessel, which; they say, hovers a few feet above the current
water line.

Devil's Promenade in Joplin: In the village of Hornet, eleven miles
southwest of Joplin near the borders of Missouri/Oklahoma/Kansas there
is a strange orange ghost light that has been seen "almost every
night since 1866. This light leaves behind a trail of glowing sparks and has
been reported to enter cars or buses. It has been called The Hornet Ghost
Light, The Neosho Spook Light, and the devil's Jack-o-lantern. Scientists
who have studied this phenomenon can not agree on the cause of this light.
In 1946 The Army Corp of Engineers called it a "mysterious light of
unknown origins". In 1983 Ghost Research Society said the light was
diamond shaped with a hollow center. Locals say that this could be the
spirits of Quapaw Indian lovers who committed suicide or of a minor
looking for his lost wife and children but neither story goes much deeper
than that. Known as the Spookville Triangle the lights are reported to be
seen from any point along a two mile section of the road here. Follow I-44
West from Joplin, turn south onto State line Road. Devil's Promenade
intersects this road after about  4 miles. There is an abandoned Spook light
Museum at this sight. www.ghost.org/ghostlights/hornet.html

Savoy Hotel in Kansas City: At the savoy Betsy Ward is said to haunt
Apartment 505. It is said she died in the bathtub there and that her spirit
returns to take showers. Fred Lightner is also said to haunt his old
apartment. He has been seen in the hallway outside his old apartment, and
many other strange voices and footsteps are frequently reported. They do
not allow investigations. 219 W. Ninth Street Kansas City, Mo. 64105

about Roberta Hall dormitory since the death of Roberta Steel when a gas
tank explosion ripped through the building April 28,  1951. Roberta, it is
said lived until November of 1952. Coeds reportedly leave a burn mark on
their doors with a hot iron to discourage night time visits from Roberta
who has in the past awakened freaked out students by trying to get into

the mid 1700's and the torso apparitions of three eighteenth-century
dressed men.  1-573-883-7544

Curren House in St. Louis: The famous case of Patience Worth played out
here beginning on July 18, 1913 Mrs. Pearl Curren sat down at a Ouija
board and began spelling out messages from the spirit. Mrs. Curren
dictated messages from the Ouija while her husband transcribed. Born in
England in 1600 Patience migrated to America and was killed by Indians in
Missouri, Mrs. Curren spelled out. Then over the next 10 years as the
world hung on the story uneducated Mrs. Curren channeled Patience and
wrote an impressive array of literature-- four million words in 29 volumes.
Her novel "Telka" is said not to contain one word that was introduced in
to the language after 1700. When Pearl Curren died in 1937, Patience
Worth disappeared and soon so did her nationwide following which
included a magazine and fan clubs. The Curren House is a private
residence.

Edgewood Children's Center In St. Louis: 330 North Gore Street in St.
Louis is the address of the Englewood Children's Center a 23 acre campus
that provides treatment for disturbed, abandoned and abused children. The

seminary for Webster College and more covertly to house run away
slaves. A blocks long tunnel was recently discovered under the Rock
House. Numerous anomalies have been reported, from the hovering ghost

Gehm House in St. Louis: From 1890 to 1950 Henry Gehm lived in the
house he built in the 300 block of Plant Avenue in St. Louis. The reclusive
German immigrant apparently lived and died alone but when his house sold
to Mr & Mrs. S.L. Furry in 1956. Immediately the family knew that they
were not alone in the home. They saw the ghost of a black dressed lady in
a white cloud, they heard unexplained noises. The Walsh family moved in
1965 and saw not only these ghosts but the ghost of a blond haired girl.

from the place in the middle of the night refusing to return. Anomalies
include a crying baby, a mans sudden shriek, a womans voice, heavy
footsteps and dragging chains. 14 North Newstead Avenue 1-34-535-1117

Towosaghy: In the year A.D 1000 a thriving religious community existed
on this 52 acre walled site. The bleak, unimproved site is considered
sacred. The unknown ancient society built 2 ceremonial temple sites, a
pyramid mound and another ridged mound. Or permission to visit contact
